This morning, over 500 PSAC members rallied and blocked entry into two major federal government buildings in Ottawa as they expressed their mounting frustrations with Phoenix and urged the Trudeau government for more action. “We have told this government that if they do not make more progress in paying our members correctly, and compensate them for the massive impacts of this disaster, that we would escalate our actions. That’s why we’re here today.” said PSAC President Chris Aylward.

Many Canadians are not fully aware of the terrible impact Phoenix has had on the lives of federal public service workers, but more importantly, the importance of the work they continue to do in the face of missed paycheques, fending off debt collectors, and endless stress.

The first date in the arbitration hearing with Treasury Board concerning improvements to PSAC’s dental plan begin today. For over a year, PSAC has requested reasonable improvements to the dental plan covering our Treasury Board members. Last August, PSAC filed for arbitration with the employer because of their unwillingness to agree on any increases to dental benefits. In today’s hearing, we have asked for the following improvements:
